This recipe is one of my chilhood favorite snack. I prefer room temperature when I eat it. It's the sweetrice, sticky ruce or what we called glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and brown sugar.

  1. 1 1/2 cup glutinous rice
  2. 1 cup brown sugar
  3. 1 pc pandan leaf
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/4 cup toasted mung beans (crushed)
  6. 2 cups or 1 can coconut milk
  7. 5 cups water

Steps to make Tutong

  1. Toast mung beans over medium-high heat
  2. Combine water and coconut milk. Simmer for 2 minutes.Add pandan leaf, tiasted beans and glutinous rice.Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. When the rice is almost cook add brown sugar and salt. Cook until thick.
  4. Cool complete.
  5. Enjoy.
